Group of Employees Suffering Unpaid Overtime from Pittsfield, Berkshire County

In 2017, Attorney Steffans represented a group of transportation employees who were not paid overtime.  The employer in this case paid the employees the regular hourly wage for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek, instead of time-and-a-half.  This type of payment structure was consistent with federal law, but violated Massachusetts state law. Attorney Steffans originally represented one employee in this case.  By the end of the case, he was representing 19.  The case quickly settled for a significant sum that the employer insist be kept confidential.

Do you work more than 40 hours in a workweek?  Are you not paid time-and-a-half for the hours you work in excess of 40? Are you based in Fall River, Lowell, New Bedford, the Cape, Worcester, Springfield, Pittsfield, or the surrounding areas? If you answer yes to these question, you very likely have a claim for unpaid overtime.
